Experience

Lourens is a chartered accountant, specialising in insurance and risk management. He spent 10 years at the Financial Services Board (formerly the Financial Sector Conduct Authority) in forensic investigation and insurance before joining Absa as Chief Risk Officer of its non-banking financial services division. Lourens was appointed as Guardrisk’s Financial Director in 2008 and then CEO in 2023.
